Time to shake off the year that's been!

Many of us were waiting for the clocks to tick over on midnight 31.12.2020. We were well and truly ready to say goodbye, adios, arrivederci, sayonara, au revoir and quite frankly, good riddens, to 2020! A year none of us will ever forget. The craziness just kept coming.

And a year most of us are well and truly ready to see the back of. I received a Chrissy card from an old friend from NZ saying β€œ2020, the less said the better!” so, with that in mind, my final thoughts are this.

When we are mentally fatigued our brain tends to take short-cuts to preserve energy. One, it acts impulsively, or two, all too hard basket - complete avoidance. We need to intentionally factor in activities in our day to reduce the impact of mental fatigue, be kind to our brain to avoid burnout!

R U OK? Day is actually one of my favourite initiatives from a professional perspective. For someone on the wrong side of crappy behaviour, who is not OK, but who might feel helpless or unsure of what to do, hearing these words is huge!
